The weather seriously affected the event, resulting
in a drop in ticket sales. Some elements of the entertainment programme
had to be cancelled and the income from the stall holders at St John’s was
down by half due to poor sales. The catering at St John’s showed a slight
increase, due in
part to the excellent array of delicious items and possibly the rain!
There was no reaction from the visitors to the increase in the ticket
price to £6.
At the post-event meeting, one of the points raised
was to extend the opening hours until 5.00 pm. This and other suggestions
will be taken in to consideration when
planning the 2013 event to be held on Sunday June 30th. Also to be
considered, will be how best to integrate the newly acquired ‘Washing
Green’ into the programme
at the Museum.
