St Andrews Preservation Trust

Charming, delightful, picturesque: these are adjectives one frequently hears applied to St Andrews but its not always so obvious.  By the 1930s many of the small streets and wynds, the east end of North Street, and other areas of the town were severely run down and under threat of demolition.

That so much was saved is in no small part to the activities of St Andrews Preservation Trust.
